Every once in a while we get
the urge to try our luck by making a new kind of spread, which will add some
more color to our breakfast table. This time, after returning from the city
with a big jar of olives, my wife was the one that took the bull by the horns and
made us a tasty spread out of the olives, and even dared and added sprouted
lentils to it. The truth is, it was very tasty. The combination of the unique
bitter taste of the olives with the fresh taste of the sprouted lentils is very
interesting and special. Of course the taste has a lot to do with the quality
of the olives and their variety. I would recommend to go ahead and experiment
with different kinds of olives.
The Ingredients :
About half a cup of pitted
olives
Half a cup of sprouted lentils
(How and why)
Juice from half a lemon
Fresh parsley
Fresh chives
Handful of sunflower seeds
Pepper
The preparation is very easy.
Just mix the olives with some parsley and chives in a mixer. Then add the
lentils, lemon juice, sunflower seeds and some pepper and mix again, but just a
bit so the lentils will still stay a bit meaty. Like I said, during breakfast
with fresh bread or a nice warm toast it goes amazing. Enjoy!
